Yup - easy button, and for sure eliminates any possibility of meta data revealing Geo-location tags, should you forget to turn that off.
We did do an exercise here on HW and found that images uploaded to HW do not contain geo tags anyways, or at least we weren't smart enough to get it to work :chuckle:

I e-mail photos from my phone and it asks what size I want them. I choose medium, save to computer and post with no resizing and it works every time.:yeah:

How are you viewing the forum on your phone? Is it via a web browser? Maybe try Tapatalk? It is pretty nice and Tapatalk has it's own web hosting and will handle resizing and uploading the images for you.

If the photos are the correct dimensions, they'll post. If they're not the correct dimensions, they won't. That's not the forum causing that.

I'm 90% sure you have an iphone. Check this out on your phone. Go into settings.

Go to “Formats”

Read the info on the bottom. If you’re not in the correct mode, you’re reducing the odds of taking pictures that are the correct size to post. You want to be in that high efficiency mode.
Also since I’m here, using Tapatalk, this is how it works.
I always use the Medium size format.

I pretty much laid out a paint by numbers.
The easiest way bar none to post photos from your phone is to use the Tapatalk app.
I also think it's a ton easier to navigate the forum with the app too. Using the browser on my phone is a giant PITA if you ask me.

Click “choose file” under attachments. You’ll then get a pop up to select a photo on your phone or take a photo.
Click on the photo you want. At the bottom it says select size
Click select size. Set it to small and then click back in upper corner.
Click done upper right corner

If you don't have the option to change the size of your photos like Casey described, maybe your phone needs a software update. Check that too.

:yeah: this is hands down the easiest way to post photos that are small enough to post easily. I can post 4 or 5 at a time no problem.

My only point in saying that was guessing that phone maybe doesn’t support the latest software. Really I have no clue. It was the only reason I could think why he wouldn’t be up for the software update that came out today.

Yep, as bearpaw explained, things have definitely changed, but not on the forum side. Phones changed. But your phone’s technology is 4-5 years old.
And yes, I 100% guarantee you that geotagged locations are retrievable through photos posted here if they’re attached to the photos. Best bet is to just turn off the location services or whatever your phone calls it. All sorts of other reasons that should be turned off on your phone anyway, besides keeping your honey holes a secret.

I guess I'm over thinking it. I have all my pictures hosted on a third party site (imgur) and then embed them into the posts here. I just resized them to whatever I want on the host site and save the image.
Tapatalk does all that for you. That’s what I’ve been trying to say. It’s it’s own hosting and resizing site and it’s about 100 times easier to navigate the forum on a phone if you ask me. So you don’t even have to leave the app to do your photo hosting or the resizing.

Tapatalk does have a few issues though, some issues with iPhone and some other issues with Android, but for 99% of what most people do on HW its great, and super easy to post pics.
The only issue I’ve found aside from limitations for mods is the search function being totally inoperative. But I also think that that’s a forum thing. The TT search works fine on Rokslide and waguns.

I did the same pic 3 times. One of each of the dimensions in the pic. I think when you’re using a photo hosting site, photos post easier from whatever size you want. Attachments require the dimensions to be more correct for lack of a better word.
