Just curious as to what people have tried out over the years.... Pros and cons. Seems like they are always coming out with something new each year.
-
Been using Easton axis 340 for over ten years without any issues. They do what I need an arrow to do well and I don’t see the need for anything “better”.
-
ICS Hunter 340. Shuttles, before Muzzy was OK. Tried Carb express and Maximas but Beman for me. SHuttles fly best compared to old muzzy.
-
Easton 2413 awesome arrow and of course the VanDyke broadhead :twocents:

:yeah:

Black Eagle arrows for the past 3 years. I fletch my arrows with four vanes (for many, many years), and tip em with Magnus Stingers. Accurate, deadly combination.
-
I'm shooting an Easton FMJ with 125 grain shuttle T's or A-tacs.
497 grains total
-
Easton Axis, Blackhawk Vapor pro & currently Black Eagle Spartan with either Rad's Ti Con 125gr or Kudu 125gr. All great arrows and I can honestly say I'm very impressed with how durable these Black Eagle arrows are.
-
Eason Bloodline, your choices are pretty limited when you have the wingspan of a bald eagle.

Easton fmj 340. Fly the best for me out of all I've tried.
-
Easton XX78 2413 with Montec G5 125gr.

3 fletch AAE 2.6 Hybrids
50 gr Aluminum Insert/Outsert
Easton G nocks
Rival 125

I ordered some VanDieman 2 blades for my longbow but might test them with my Impulse to see how they fly those are 150 gr.

Easton XX78 2413 with Montec G5 125gr.
Now THATS an arrow
-
Gold tip hunter XT 300 spine have been good to me. Haven’t been able to break one yet even when shooting into dirt or logs. Only one I busted was perfectly robin hooded. But the arrow that struck the first arrow was still fine. Haven’t seen a reason to try anything else.
-
Gold tip xt hunter 250 cut at 30”
50gr insert
125 grain slick trick magnum
Blazer vanes and a 9” wrap
Hits em plenty hard!
-
Black eagle carnivore with 75 grain insert 6 inch wraps 125 magnus stinger 510 grain over all they are bad ass arrows
-
Thanks for all the input. Great to hear about everyone's arrows! I've only used maxima reds bit what been thinking about reaching out and trying something new.
-
:dunno: I'm not into spending the overinflated $$ for the pricey arrows. For years I have been shooting the cheap Cabelas carbon arrows, with standard Thunderhead 100.....Never had a problem killing a deer every year with that setup. :dunno:
-
Black Eagle Spartan 300's
75 grain brass insert
100 grain Rad TiCons and going to try the VPA 3 blade non vented this year as well
3.5 wraps and 3 fletch AAE Max Hunter vanes
Total arrow weight is 505 grains
-
300 spine FMJs 75 grain insert 125 gn slick trick mag 4 vane 4 in wrap and a lighted nock. 635 grain 255 FPS ass kicker🤘🏻
-
I fling the Walmart Arrows like they’re 5$ a piece. But I miss aaaaaalot.
-
Maxima Reds tipped with Slick Tricks for quite a few years now. Killed a lot of animals, and I'm really happy with them. North 40 sells the arrows individually for as cheap as the dozen price, so I just pick up about 4 a year which is about what I lose or break in the course of a year. These are the best I've used for my 80# bow.
-
When I had my bow I used Easton carbon hexx 330 spine arrows. They had a tolerance of +/- 0.001. 31.5" with a schwacker at the tip I was zipping at 303 fps.
Bear motive 6.
Man I miss shooting bows.
-
I'm currently shooting Easton hexx shafts with 50 grain brass inserts and 125 grain RAD rival or tri cons up front. Shot 4 fletch bohning heat vanes last year.

I should do that, putting $20+ arrows through the fence makes me cry.

same setup minus the 4 fletch. Been really impressed with the Hexx so far.

Might move to the revelation
-
Seems like a decade or more I ha be been shooting victory arrows sportsman's guide sells for right now on sale @ $40.00 a dozen. let them cut to length then I refletch to 4 Fletch I don't see a need for overpriced arrows IMO
-
Black Eagle X-impact 250 spine
Ethics SS Outsert
AAE Hybrid 23 6 fletch
Fire Nock (nocks only)
150 grain Day Six Evo-X
150 grain Evolution Outdoors Hyde expandable
Total arrow weight 570 grains @272 fps.
-
Last year I was shooting a .300 FMJ with 125 grain Magnus Snuffer SS and the blazers. They weighed right around 500 grains and I was getting about 275fps.This year it will be the same but I have 50 grain inserts so should be right around 550 grains. They fly perfect out of my 72lb Hoyt Carbon Spyder Turbo. It's a elk killing setup.
-
BE Rampage with a 4 inch wrap and 3 max stealths. 55 steel halfout and 125 Exodus heads

Gonna check these out. I'm with you and not paying for over priced slivers.

Eason Bloodline, your choices are pretty limited when you have the wingspan of a bald eagle.
What is your draw length? I was running Blooodlines at 29.5" with an overdraw with 200 grains up from out of my Hoyt. I just built an Easton Axis 260 at 30.5" with 175 grains up front to shoot out of my PSE.
-
Switched to Victory VAPs this year with the 75 grain insert/outsert. Got a really good deal on a dozen of them.
Teeny little diameter arrow!
Up front I've got a small pile of RAD 125s to choose from. Rival, TiCon, Madman.
-
I shot the gold tip xt for many years then got a killer deal when sportsman’s sold a bunch of stores on 4dz pro hunter shafts. Think I’m down to less then a dz now days. I think I’m at 31/32 animals with them. Always been good to me.
I may however try some black eagles when I go to get some new arrows.
-
Easton FMJ in limited edition Autumn Orange. 390 spine, 6mm. Aluminum insert (not the hidden ones) that came with them, they were factory fletched with blazers, orange nock, tipped with RAD Triple Sec HPV 100 grain heads.
Been looking at lighted nocks. Might give a few a try.
-
Easton axis match grade with a brass insert and slick trick broadhead. Sitting at 540 grains at 267 fps
