Holy hell this is a joke. $123 for just my boat alone. That is more than it cost for my $40K truck per year, which BTW I drive every day. How the crap can they get away with charging this much for freaking boat tabs? It feels like they just robbed me.
Oh yeah, also, they only go from June to June so I had to pay a prorated rate for the remainder of this year and then the $123 for the next year. I was just blown away.
-
Yeah it is ridiculous
-
I got two, but I think I'll only license one. I do want to go fishing, but wife wants to go skiing :(
-
I wonder if you could beat the man by just getting trip permits? Were they at least offering a complementary reach around.
-
you could for the trailer I suppose, not sure there is a trip permit for a boat (pretty sure there isn't)
-
I would say you should start a citizen's initiative, but we all know that appears to be a giant waste of time.

20$ boat tabs!! Let's lock it up in the courts!
-
Save your gas receipts and file for non road use tax refund... should make enough back to pay for licensing fee's.

From the boat or just gas overall?
-
Complete BS! As they go off value . First year I licensed mine it was almost $200! Not including the trailer ! Robbery

Boat mostly but I also save receipts for non e for the truck when I'm using it on non tax roads. Also all fuel for lawnmower, equipment etc

Just do this during tax time then? Never heard of this before? Love the idea though.

As a heads up y9u can buy lifetime tabs for any trailer under 2000 lbs pays for itself after 4 years give or take . My tiderunner trailer will be my trailer forever now . And I do use my boat year round but the price for fans is ridiculous

Double whoa. I get my boat fuel receipts via e-mail so I can go back last year and submit. Thanks!
-
Well, I used 153 gallons in 2019 and it ends up calculating to a $38 refund if I did the math right. It won't pay the tabs, so I better get a boat with a bigger motor (or two) this year.
-
Well my boat has an 85 gallon tank so....i use a little bit more than you :chuckle:
A few bucks is better than nothing I guess.

My boat trailer tabs were over $100 thanks to RTA.

For the boat, but, oddly, I fill my truck in five gallon increments as well.... 8) 1100+ gallons last year gives a pretty good rebate. Gotta get them totalled up tomorrow, thanks for the reminder.
-
I can easily burn through 100 gallons a year alone for just yard essentials, lawnmower, pressure washer, chain saws, log splitter etc.
I don't want to have to admit how much i spend on boat fuel. :chuckle:

So i got on and tried to make an account with TAP or whatever it is. They are saying I have to purchase some stickers or something. I feel like I did something wrong.

Yeah, you must have clicked on the wrong thing. I registered for an account yesterday and got one with no problem or stickers. I seem to remember there were multiple choices and I had to find the one that was for non-business use for boat gas or something like that.
