Title: Neah Bay current rules
Post by: Desert_Fox on March 01, 2020, 02:14:50 PM
Does anyone know what is the current rules there. I am thinking of going to fish the jetty that connect Waadah Island. I have never been there and don't know if it allows non-tribal memeber to walk on it. And also do I need a trible license to fish and park there other then the state license, if so, where to buy one. I am in to rockfish or greenling, I am sure the jetty has some good fish there.

Thanks for any input.

I would pick up the wdfw regs or download them before you go..

As for the jetty I heard once they don't want people hiking on it.  The surf this time of year is big and you don't want to be on that jetty with big surf..it's a couple miles long.

The tribe requires a recreational use pass. Probably get one at Big Salmon as long as they are open..

You can fish for greenling and bass, but no cod on the inside right now. Season opens in a couple weeks.

Imo your better off beach casting along 112 between Clallam Bay and Neah.. plenty of spots to pull over and find some kelp and rocks.

Been awhile since I've been out there, but there is potential for good fishing.

Tribe has there own regs and seasons.
This is from last year:Open: March 15 through October 31, 2019 (subject to emergency closure) https://makah.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/2019-ON-05-In-season-Breakwater-Nontribal.pdf (https://makah.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/2019-ON-05-In-season-Breakwater-Nontribal.pdf)
I'd call the tribe

Thanks I have read the state rules, I heard that the rule on tribal land/sea is different. I definitely will try the cost along 112.
