My son & I went out for the opener. We found a lot of people fishing the Quincy lakes area. Tried at Martha, and there was not really a spot to get to the waters edge with all the cat tails around the shore. Any open fishable spot had folks already fishing. Headed over to Quincy, it was packed as well. Found a spot, caught one rainbow. Many people fished all morning with nothing, some people limited. Sunshine was nice, but of course, like most every other March 1st opener the cold wind blew and never let up while we were out.

Saw a dozen boats or so in Lind Coulee yesterday. They haven't started to let water out yet, Soda lake is still at its winter lows. Saw a half dozen cars at Corral lake. I didnt venture into where Canal/Windmill etc are.

Was at Martha also and had to bail after just a couple hours with kids getting cold. The bite was pretty slow for us and everyone we observed.

I bet your kiddos did get cold, wind was chilly! It would have been a perfect early spring day minus the wind. The fish we saw caught at Martha were decent size...

We hit Martha and the east end of Burke yesterday. Burke didn't seem to have any trout (on the east end).
