Me and the wife are going to camp out. Stayed in hotel last time any good camp grounds near these areas? Thanks

If its campground type camping youre after, and turkey hunting is your plan, then Id think the campground by the Gifford Ferry on hwy 25 just north of Buck Canyon Lodge if its open by then, not 100% sure but mostly sure. Funny how when you live somewhere you cant answer questions like that because it never crosses your mind.

Not that many campgrounds on Hwy 395 but plenty on hwy 25 as you go up the lake. Nice campground at Kettle Falls ,about 10 minutes from Colville and Hunters campground which is about 30 minutes from Chewelah. I think some also camp at the Colville fairgrounds or you can camp anywhere on the forest service ground.

I’ve camped at the kettle falls campground a number of times, it is nice campground. I think it is 9 dollars a day for non peak camping. There is also a campground up by the refuge by starvation flats that is a state camp ground that is nice has a small lake to fish. You can also camp on the refuge which I’ve done and is a nice area to camp as well.

I've camped at Starvation Lake mentioned above. It's free with a discovers pass and has toilet, water, and a camp host. I've camped many a night in the Little Pend refuge. It's a fantastic place for camping if you don't need services. I've also camped in the national forest with success. Also no services, but you're in the thick of birds.

Roughing it camping in a tent. Me and the wife. It says 13 spots opens 4 th week of April. Hopefully the back survives sleeping on a air mattress :chuckle: :chuckle just saying have a bad back.

Get her a cot otherwise you won't make it to the end of the hunt

Going to be cold at night, air mattress will make it colder.......atleast use a cot mattress.

It can get chilly overnight in the mountains. I ended up sleeping in my SUV and not using my tent cot.
