Title: Anybody Hunt South Rainier unit?

Post by: Scottystyle on April 09, 2009, 03:32:44 PM: I shot a nice 5x4 there second day of general rifle 2005, 50 feet off the highway. There are lots of hunters, but there are also quite a few elk. Best way to do it is find well used game trails that lead from the fields, and just sit it out. I'll try to load a pic of my bull if i can figure it out

Too much poaching in the hard winter years. If you don't believe me check out the harvest reports for the last 3 years. 2005-43 bulls.2006-16 bulls,2007-10 bulls. I did not hunt it last year 08. But from my group of 10 or more guys 0 in the last 3 years. I'm scouting somewhere Else to hunt. It's sad.
