Lost a great man yesterday. Brought him in to Madigan about 10 days ago with really bad labored breathing. Tested for coronavirus and biological infections but was cleared. Turns out it was aortic stenosis and he wasn't a candidate for surgery. He was on a respirator and decided he didn't want to be kept alive by mechanical means, so had the respirator removed. He was able to breathe on his own for another day. The doctors kept him comfortable as he passed.
He was a retired army Colonel, Vietnam veteran, Green Beret, and a veterinarian also. He was a twin and his brother was also a veterinarian and received the Silver Star in Korea.
Harold (Bud) Strandberg, my dad.

Sorry is no where near enough for a loss of a man like that. It has been almost 8 years since I lost my Dad and I think of him everyday! It is a tough place for most to be, hold on to all the great memories and qualities that made him the man he was to you and to all who knew him. A great loss for sure but your tribute to him says a great deal about how he will live on! Prayers to you and all he touched.
