being a PA native we have seen many big bears. Most of the records come out of the Laurel Swamps where they die of old age. As busy and crowded at the Pocono are is it produces some of the biggest and that includes the Delaware River boarder with NJ. No color phase bears are available as is the case in the entire northeast. Several bears weighed in over 800# but not necessarily legally killed.

I wish we had bears that big in north Idaho. Would make for some fun bear races with the hounds instead of 100 pounders that run all day.
