Title: Coyote Hunting
Post by: Eartotheground on April 17, 2020, 11:25:03 AM
from what ive been researching, coyotes are one of the tougher animals to kill. is it even worth it to trying to get out there and get a few coyote kills this summer with a bow? they seem like a great challenge to keep my hunting skills sharp in the summer months. anyone given it a go?

Summer (late especially) you're going to see young of the year responding to calls, they're the dumbest. Still wary and incredible noses, but should be prime opportunity for the bow! I'd suggest thin timber, as opposed to the brush or croplands... tough to hide and shoot out in those.

Try rifle first, see how hard that is.  You probably will decide not to bother trying with a bow.  I suspect all you will accomplish by calling coyotes with a bow is to educate them.

get good at shooting them, then you'll answer your own questions about using a bow   :twocents:
