2021 Oregon is asking to make hunting in Eastern Oregon draw only for archery deer and elk. I wrote a letter against this desicion. Make your voice heard one way or the other. Less opputunity I feel is never the answer.

There's quite a few people that think being able to put in for certain tags for rifle, and then hunt over the counter archery in controlled rifle units might have a few flaws with it.
I'd rather you have to declare a weapon, personally.

I would take weapon declaration over straight permit for sure

But those hunters who just chose archery would not be making their annual contribution through application fees. For that reason alone I can't see it happening unless they are required to draw an archery tag. Got to keep the money flowing. I'm old, I'm cynical, get off my lawn.
