Post by: jstone on June 18, 2020, 10:07:18 AM
The unit I hunt archery elk is a true spike unit. I saw lots of elk last year BUT no spikes at all. Did you see any spikes? How about at the feed lots to.? I will be out for true spikes this year. Just curious what everyone else saw in the way of spikes

We hunted late season this year and I think our group figured in total during late season archery we saw around 30 spikes.  It was unreal.

Wow that’s great news for the herd. Lots got away then in your area.

I guess so, I have never seen that many spikes before.  Every heard we ran into would have 3 or 4 of them.  The bigger herds there would be more than that.  I think the herd of 50 that I shot my cow out of had 5 or 6.
