Looking for a day pack with a load shelf and kind of narrowed it down to the MR Sawtooth or Pintler. Tried the sawtooth with 50lbs and loved the comfort level. Anyone have any pros or cons on these packs? Thanks

I run the metcalf and really like it overall.

I picked up the Pinter this year. Taken it on training hikes.... I like the fit and it’s more comfortable than the badlands 2200 I used to use.

Bump. Anyone else. What about sizing? I’ve tried on their medium belt and it had a couple inches of extra space. Max waistline measurement for a medium is 36. Minimum for a large belt is 35 inch waste. I’m a 36 inch waste. Haven’t been able to try on the large belt yet but wondering if I should order that in case I grow... LOL

Also 6’ 200 lbs

I run a Selway 60 and love it. Did you try the belt with layers. We are close to the same size and I went large belt. Torso size was also a factor. And with the large belt I have room to layer, and without layering I can still get it synched down for summer hiking.

What year is your pack? Does it have the guide light MT frame?

I got the Sawtooth this spring and so far have loved it. I haven't had the pleasure of packing meat with it yet, but I have thrown a bunch of crap on the load shelf and it seems to carry great. I used it for a two night backpacking trip the other weekend and with that kind of load it's magically comfortable.

I used my Sawtooth in Idaho and Colorado very light and comfortable, no regrets!

Went with the Sawtooth. Loved it. Load shelf worked great with a front and rear deer quarter and the rifle strapped in nicely in the side pocket with straps. Very comfortable. Very happy with the purchase.

Same, and it compresses nicely and can be used as a day pack with the option to go big!

I have the Mule and love it. Its bag is fairly small but you can also stuff things onto the load shelf. I've had a few quarters on it and it is super comfortable. Its on the Guide lite MT frame. I had to buy them separate but love the combo. Been thinking of getting the Pop up 28 also but don't really have a need for it so been holding out.
