What do you use for hunting? Im currently using a thumb button, I feel more comfortable, accurate and in control with the thumb release than I do with my index release.
Curious what everybody else is using for hunting specifically but also curious to know what your general experiences have been.

I switched to a thumb release many years ago. My groups shrank and like you I feel more steady and accurate. Think I'm around 25 animals with them and dont think I'll ever go back to a trigger style.

I went to a thumb release last year. Feels a lot better, im shooting better, and dont have a damn release strapped to my hand all day.

I prefer the index release. It is always around your wrist so you don’t worry about losing it and it is easy to consistently repeat my anchor points where as when I’ve tried the thumb button release I struggle finding a consistent anchor point on my jaw.

I'm brand new, started shooting at the beginning of the year. I started with an index I borrowed and replaced it with a thumb release. I immediately didn't like the index release, which could have been because it was cheap. I've got a basic thumb release and it is awesome. I feel like I have better control and I'm not worried about accidental discharge.

The main reason I haven’t went to a thumb release for hunting is they are slippery in the rain, and I hunt western Washington. I tried many things for grip and nothing worked well. Spot hogg wise guy for hunting, thumb whipper snapper for target.

I shoot a thumb for all target stuff but still hunt with a index finger.

I use two thumb releases, cause I tend to loose one

I enjoy target shooting more with a thumb release. Hunt with a fold back index release because its always there, can't drop it, and can hook it to D loop without even looking or thinking about it.
Thumb release stays in binoculars case just in case....

Got a spot hog whipper snapper a couple weeks ago and am pretty pleased with it over my previous thumb button. Get to try it out here a week and a half on a speed goat hunt
