Preparing the thieves will become more than a full time job and giving them to your neighbors usually brings a visit from controlling type people.  Build the fence so you can carefully select which is served with your produce.  Besides the pictured perp could stand a few more years growth.

Can you see the wife out there shaking the Daisy at him trying to chase him off?😂😂. She said he just went closer to the garden. Looked up at her with a look like, go back inside lady!
