Poor hatch for turkey? Is the same true for the grouse this year?

I drive over from the westside every year to do my civic duty for my fellow Washingtonians in the Colville area. I target nuisance birds on private property during fall with great success. They are thick in the fall near ranches and farms.

Yesterday afternoon when I was leaving herded a couple of dozen down the driveway. Have been working in the shop and heard what sounds like someone throwing stuff against the wall. It is the turkies scratching and slinging dirt against the wall. 😠😠😠

Woman walking down the road, I stopped to tell her that I'd never seen a flock like that. She lived right there and said she had counted 140 in the same field the week before!! Lots of birds in the Goldendale area!!!
