Title: Smacked one today
Post by: kirkl on April 16, 2007, 04:05:39 PM
Opening morning heard nothing.  Today went to another spot and we got their late, we stopped at a spot i like to listen for gobbles and we heard one up the ridge so we head up there and get about 70 yards from where he is, it was thick between me and him and i have a clear shot on the skidder road that he was, so were sitting there hes gobbling and i make two calls on the slate and he gobbles 4 times and a minute later hes 35 yards infront of me looking for the hen then BOOM, hes dead.  Hes a 2 year old, 6.5 inch beard, 1/2 in spurs.  He was a heavy bugger.
