What’s the best stove that’ll keep a 12x20 warm
-
do you mean warm all night, or just warm while your up?
Ive got an old sheepherders style stove that keeps it warm while im awake, but doesn't hold enough to burn more then an hour or so. its convenient cause its super easy to pack around.
I also built myself a stove out of a 35 gallon oil barrel. it will run almost all night, and will burn you out if you want it to.
Im considering pickup up the campchef wood stove or something like it though. the barrel is tough to manage, and hard to pack around cause it takes up so much space.

Yeah I was looking at the camp chef alpine

I have a 13x27 tent and use a big stove, will look at the name brand tonight but it will hold a pile of wood, and wood longer than 18'', burns all night. Go big so you can run it all night, few hot coals in the morning, couple sticks of wood, back at it.

Yeah if you can get me the brand I’d appreciate it

Is weight a concern?

Not at all

I have a HEAVY steel one I built years ago that I used in my 13x27 that I could make you a deal on. It will run you out of the tent no problem and with good wood, will hold all night. I will see if I can get some pics this weekend if you are interested. The 13x27 is also on the block.

Im looking for one for my 12x20. I was leaning toward the camp chef because its cheap and readily available. I’ll only use it a couple weeks a year in Oct/Nov. i worry about its ability to warm the Alaknak all night but i dont want to spend 3-500 on something that will get so little use.

side note, whatever stove you do choose, pick up a heat activated fan to move the warm air better around your tent. That big of space can be tough to heat throughout from just a wood stove

i know for me, bigger is always better. sometimes it gets cold or you have to dry stuff out.. not wanting to spend $$ , maybe look at the barrel conversion kits, when barrel dies, you can reset in new barrel?
