This was a first for me, Im sitting in my deer stand just about to give up on the morning hunt and this guy walks out right underneath me. Maybe 10 yard, I give his a little bah at about 15 yards and he stops and turns his head right at me. I shoot and he went straight up in the air about 5 or 6 feet (it seems like). he hits the ground a blows off into the brush. gave him 30 minutes and find him piled up 30 yards away. pretty incredible experience. Hes got an ear tag, Im guessing he was a trouble maker at some point in his life. haven't gotten any feed back from the game warden yet on the ear tag. that hole is from a rage hypodermic.

Well done sir

How cool is that. Congratulations

Great work. Congrats
-
Now that’s good work, right there.

Absolutely beautiful!

Excellent! Ear tag might not mean hes a trouble maker. The collared female cougar that visits my property is part of the predator prey study and she had a litter a couple months back, and the biologist went and ear tagged her cubs. Theyre certainly too young to cause trouble (for a little while longer anyway)

It says wdfw one side and the number 130 on the other, No collar but i see what your talking about on the picture of the head.
I email the Spokane bio that i found on the wdfw web sight. hope to hear something back.
It looks like you work with those guys a bit, would you happen to have another conatct number for me?

Absolute bucket list, nice job. I didn’t know about trich in cats either, thanks for the heads up.

Great job T-Roy! Great composure. Perfect shot! I ate my cat. Reminded me of the really lean part of a porkchop.

As @Bango shank and @Blacktail1135 said, canned is great and fried just like a porkchop--the other white meat.

The biologist got back to me yesterday. Pretty interesting, They had a collar on the mother of the cat I shot. They must have an idea of when they are having baby's by the collar movement or something because she gave me my cats birth date and said they tagged him and 2 to other siblings 7 days after birth.
He was 2.5 years old and was tagged roughly 30 miles north of where i got him.

T-roy, can I use the story on my website? I'm collecting non-calling stories now too.

Outstanding! Way to keep it together through the shot.
Last year this same thing happened to a buddy in his treestand. He gave a chunk of cougar meat to a bunch of us, told us all to come up with a recipe and we all got back together a week later for a "Meow Mixer" dinner. Pretty much any pork recipe worked. We had Cougar stew, Cat enchiladas, Kung Pow Kitty, and a bunch of others. Was like really lean pork.

Exxcellent day of hunting, once in a life time expierance for most.
We worked in Mineral Wa this past week,, population 219, 1,470 elevation. Just got home a few hours ago.
We stayed down there at the little 18 camper resort right on Mineral Lake.
Last night i went outside to grab a coke out of the ice chest at 12:45am and was looking at the lake when I seen a car comeing down the road.a full size cougar went running by twenty-seven feet away. Never knew it was there.
Kind of scary.
The resort maintance/care taker said there are three cougars hanging around the town. Two females and a large male.
Every day we seen deer right in town. If I lived closer to Mineral I would be down there hunting for one of them.

Nice!
