I have been shooting archery for about 10 years and have hunted archery for probably 5 or 6 seasons. Took a break and hunted rifle after I had my kiddos. I am getting my bow tuned up again and considered using a nose button to help with consistency (although my anchor point has always been knuckle to jaw line and peep to sight). My nose though doesnt touch my string, it never has. I have had two different bows, this one being a Matthews Chill SDX. I don’t think it would make sense to try to change my head tilt or draw length just to have that extra anchor point. Am I crazy for not having the string touch my nose? Its all about preference and what you’re comfortable with, right? But on the other hand another anchor point wouldn’t hurt. Any thoughts on this?

I’d get a kisser
No pun intended

With shorter axle to axle bows the angle of the string is sharper. My string doesn't touch my nose either, but I'm 6'2". As MADMAX suggested I've also considered getting a kisser button.

As long as your anchor point is consistent, thats what matters! Everytime, the exact same way.

The nose is important to keep your head anchored the same way every time. Is it mandatory? No, but it will make a difference in accuracy especially at distance. At this point you would probably have to make a peep adjustment to start anchoring your nose on your string. If it were me I would make the adjustment.

I don't have a kisser button, and my nose doesn't touch my string, however my body and hand positioning is the same every time and when I draw back my thumb just touches the corner of my mouth. I use my thumb as a kisser button basically. Be consistent.

This.
It tightened up my groups when Cory at XXX archery told me to try doing that.

Thanks for all of the input! I will consider adjusting my peep if I decide to go that route. I have to take my bow in to get a new rest string and arrows, etc. I will see what the gentleman has to say too.
Thanks again guys!
