Over the past 4 days I have seen more nice bucks running around than I have all year. Most of them have been in urban/suburban areas. Thursday I saw 2 4x4 (not counting eye guards) and 1 3x4 running around and dodging traffic in Tumwater. All were pushing does across heavily traveled blacktop roads. On a trip from Matlock to Brady I saw 3 bucks just standing 20-60 yards off of the road like they had not a care in the world. I get home last night and there was a BIG 3x3 chasing a doe around my barn and up by the house. We piled out of the car, making a ton of noise and didnt phase him a bit. I am starting to think that I should have hunted over here last weekend instead of Ferry County. :chuckle:
Anyone else notice the sudden increase of rutting big boys?

I just got off of the phone with my Mom. She (and my daughter who is spending the weekend with them) called to tell me about a 3x4 that is standing on their bulkhead eating berry vines. She said to make it more interesting, there were a ton of salmon (stinking chum) jumping just a few feet away. She is going to try and get a pic of the buck with a salmon in the background.

I've seen a 3 point and a buddy saw a 3-4 point standing in the open running does over the last week or so. Good to know there's plenty of blackie's running around after the general season.
