Title: Savage ultralite pics.
Post by: jrebel on September 18, 2020, 08:20:59 PM
I went and did it!!!   Bought and outfitted a savage ultralite 300wsm.  Topped it with a NF SHV 5-20 and equipped it with a 30 cal can.   Will hit the range tomorrow with factory ammo.  Will be loading custom rounds later this year.

Initial out of the box review.   The rifle is stupid lite and appears very well balanced.   The stock is not overly impressive but also not bad.  Not sure how I feel about it yet.  If it shoots well and wears well....I will learn to love it.   The action is not near as smooth as my other savages.  Maybe it will smoothen out with use.  All in all I am very neutral at this point.  If it shoots and breaks in well....it will be a good addition to the hunting rifles for our family.

I will update as I shoot to let people know if they are worth the hype.

Now....enjoy the pic.  It is a pretty rifle.

My question, what does your can weigh?  And does it cause the barrel to lay on the stock effecting accuracy?
