I used Meindl Perfekts for 5-6 years and really liked them, but the quality has really gone down hill. After the seams started coming apart on my second pair I bought a pair of Crispi Wild Rocks. That was about 4 years ago. The Crispi boots are holding up much better and are just as comfortable. I haven’t tried any Kenetrek boots but hear good things. As far as insulation goes that really depends on what/when you are hunting and your preference. I like at 200g insulation pretty much year round. The extra padding helps with comfort and I can wear them over a wide range of seasons.

I had a pair of Meindl Denali boots that I really liked.  I finally replaced them this summer with another pair of Meindls.  The Vakuum Hunter.  Very happy with them.

Love my Kenetrek boots, broke them in on an elk archery hunt and no blisters

Took them on an elk rifle hunt and they stayed dry even though it rained like crazy, I even rode a motorcycle in heavy rain for hours through brush and stayed dry..only got a little seepage from the tops after water failed my gaters

Zamberlan.

Best boots I've ever owned.

I'm sure the other mentioned are great too but I'm just saying give zamberlan a look

I finally bit the bullet and bought Crispi's two years ago. Expensive but worth it for sure. Having no worries about wet feet and drying out boots is a huge relief

Love my perfekts but don’t fit me anymore. Ordered comfort fit hunter and hope to get another 6 years out of them as well.

everyone needs to made note that meindl's you are ordering from meindl USA are not the garbage that was being made for cabelas. These are the meindl of old.

I'll keep my opinions of kenetreks and crispi to myself :chuckle:

I'm 2 seasons into the Kennetrek Hardscrabble Hikers. Good solid boot that broke in easily and seems to take a beating without breaking down. Yes, a bit of sticker shock but I consider them a good value and would recommend. Never been a fan of insulated boots for activities where I'm moving around a lot, which is the case for most of my uses for this boot. Maybe if I was tree stand hunting I'd feel differently?

I have Kenetrek Mountain Guide Boots. They're heavy and expensive, but so far have been one of the best hunting-related purchases I've made - feels like I can sidehill wherever I want without concern (for better or worse). Their boot wax works well for waterproofing and my feet have always stayed dry. They're uninsulated and I do not ever recall a time where my feet got cold in them.

I have put probably 150 miles on them in the last 2+ years and they're still in great shape. Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of those miles are off trail miles. The other half logging roads.

From reading these posts it should be evident that boots are a very individual thing.

YMMV!

Just get ones that fit very well in the store, then maintain them!
