So my dad finally got a bull tag. We’ve hunted the same area of the Nile for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately his health took a turn this last year so we’re limited on how far off the road we can get. We’ve been at it scouting and hunting for 6 days now and can’t find anything in our usual areas. Never seen it so dead. So I’m reaching out if someone can help. It’s probably his last year so I’d love to find anything with antlers.

Wish I could help, but I know very little about the Nile.

RT, is that road that goes up by the bat caves in the nile? If you go over the bridge, head towards the caves and take that fs road to the left and head up?

Yep, I believe 410 is the boundary. Not a 100 percent though

Does your Dad have the Goose Prairie Bull tag ?

Been years since I hunted the nile.....love that place. Really hope you can find someone to help out so your dad can kill a bull. When we did hunt it we spend a lot of time on the top jeep tails that connect all the main arteries. I believe it was the 696 roads????? but don't quote me. This use to be one of the migratory routes that lead straight to Oak Creek where they winter. Someone that hunts it...please correct me if I am wrong, it has been a few years since I've been up there.

Hoping this works out and you guys can connect on a bull.

I'm certainly no expert on the Nile unit but have hunted it a bit. Maybe try the area north of Little Rattlesnake Creek above Coral and Soda Spring meadows? Area is a little more open and may have a better chance at spotting something from a glassing point. Saw some smaller bulls in that area last year. Or possibly some glassing points along the bluffs above 410?
Good luck!

Thanks for the responses. Yes it’s the goose prairie tag. Border is 410. I was hoping last weekends snow would push them into the neighborhood. I did quite a bit of hiking around the wilderness boundary and saw very few track in the snow. Snows gone now and it’s summer weather up here.

I know where some bulls were 3 weeks ago during ML season, but not sure if they are still there. But you'd need stock to get your dad back there. PM me if you want info.
