How old do you figure that buck is Bone?  Is this one that you've been watching for years?

I’m guessing he is just off prime age for antlers(old side). He was a beast for size so hadn’t lost there.    I’ve never seen him before, nor will I probably ever see him again.  I came over the rise, spotted him and his doe.  I squeezed off a few quick shots, adjusted my camera, got a few more frames, then took a step.  He exploded and was gone. No bouncy bouncy, he was off like a whitetail.

Great photo of that bruiser!  How close were you when you took that shot?  Might have to grab my dslr and go get some sheep photos.

Hmmm... I wonder how he got so old... :chuckle: :chuckle:

Almost like archery hunting but without the packing.

Camera with a pod is more difficult.   Camera weighs in about 15 pounds, is awkward, metal and white.    My bow is way more fluid. But exactly.   My best photos are taken exact bow range, or what I call bow range

Great buck, kind of looks like some swelling on left side of face, like maybe he has an abscess.  Seen that a few times in the wt here.

I thought so too, but wondered if it was just extra fat and the way he was cranking his neck.   I had one a couple years ago that was obviously something wrong

Looks like the swelling goes up into the eye area, might be a bad tooth or maybe he took a head shot from one of his buddies.    :dunno:

Old mature muley.  His hind quarters seem to be thin. Maybe just the angle.

No debate that one would get smoked if I saw him with a permit in my pocket.
