I heard this morning the smaller bucks seem to be starting to rut anyone else seen it? If so I’m thinking the last week will be pretty good
-
Negative where I am. This little guy came grazing in yesterday morning with two does. No sign of rut from him.

Sorta like 18 year olds thinking about Spring break and trying to come up with a plan.
-
The mature bucks will show when its time to rut. The little guys are mostly just hopeful early on as they annoy the does.
Last night again, 3 young bucks 15+ does, 0 interaction.

Maybe some Busch light would help him break the ice

Yup, hence the term "Young Bucks"

Saw a young 2 point acting rutty yesterday. Were getting close.

Saw 10 bucks yesterday all with does. The little guys were chasing a lot harder than the mature bucks. Does were not having it though.

No, Mulies in the Columbia Basin.

8 bucks all chasing does yesterday. No big bucks spotted though. We watched a 1x2 chase a doe up the mountain.....LOL :chuckle:

I grunted a 4x4 whitetail in to 6 yards last night (Idaho). I couldn't resist the excellent shot opportunity, and concluded my season a bit early. At any rate, some of the bucks are responsive to calling!

I've got a young BT following a doe on camera on the 2nd. She didn't seem interested but he was around the area sniffing earlier in the day. They both came through at 1030 am.

I’ve seen a few bucks chasing does. A 2 point this morning on em hard and and my parents place is next to a hay field and has a nice 4x4 and wide 3x3 chasing does for the past week. All mule deer in central cascades

That's what I saw this weekend. Small bucks were aggressive. Bigger bucks didn't seem to care at this point but I feel like it is getting close.
