Seems like you have a good case for getting your points back at least.

I was just thinking that.
Seems like a good reason to me. :dunno: :dunno:

Thats too bad you were planning on hunting that area. There is still a lot of good area in the unit that remains open.

we've spent the last few seasons there for the late hunt.

D-ROCK. UNLESS SOMETHING CHANGED IN 2 DAYS YOU CAN STILL HUNT THAT SAME AREA.WE CAMPED BBQ FLATS AND WENT UP THAT WAY.THEY ARE GONNA BE LOGGING THIS WINTER IN THERE BUT THE AREA IS STILL OPEN.
link said it will be closed
-
I read it,all i can say is wow.anything to hinder legal hunters in this state.they are logging this area so protecting wintering elk and the land owner stuff is total crap
-
when Tima logging starts running the lumber they were cutting during modern elk start running down they will run more elk out thru the damaged fence than any amount of hunters ever will. :twocents:
-
You guys think wdfw will nice people points back or say sorry nothing we can do.

They let people hunt the early elk season for one week and then turn in their tag. I think you have a good shot anyways.
-
2 of my buddies got drawn for that tag and WDFW would not return their points...
-
The whole unit isn’t closed is it? Why can’t you hunt north of evans? BBQ flats is north of there and still lots of area. Do you get to hunt all of 342?
-
There is still a lot of area in 342 that will be open. This will be a bonus and will put less pressure on the animals that have moved down.
-
I say hunt it for a few days and if unsuccessful then turn the tag in and get your points back.
-
Just heard today that there was a meeting at WDFW just in the last few days and they may actually allow folks to get their points back for 342... My buddy was told they will be sending out a notice soon.
-
Notice went out that you can get your points back

they were NOT logging this area.(n wenas rd from stagecoach pass to conrad ranches) My sons mother in law lives on the edge where the fire started. They called the dnr and reported it. They are correct about down fence as my sons property boarders it. As of this note he just finished temp patching the fence to keep his horses in. There are already about 20 elk on private land. if enough get out the ranchers will kill them.

Just got my points back today. :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
