The east side of the unit is clear as can be. Not even a dusting.

Yes, I have chains for all 4. Those roads scare the heck out of me when the weather hits.

Best of luck.  That used to be my favorite unit to hunt.  We will be expecting pictures !!

Appears like you should have snow this morning..light dusting at my house already. Decent amount of snow called for this weekend, then rain by Monday with the snow level going back up to above 4000'. This weekend sounds like your chance!

I live a few miles up the entiat valley, we’ve got 2-3” and it’s still snowing. I’d assume the lower/eastern portions of the unit will get 6-12 inches today. Chains on all 4 would be a must. Those roads are not fun with snow and ice.

I got a report from one permit hunter of 4" and snowing hard this morning at 6:45.  Another just said the snow has arrived but didn't give me a total.

The deer reports up to this point have been pretty dismal, hoping this storm changes things.

Yes, should be good the next few days if you get some clear weather.  I've got a cellular cam up there about 5,000'.  Looks bright and sunny right now, although forecast shows a lot of weather coming for the next week.

It was pretty slow as far as I could tell. I know of four bucks taken during rifle. Good bucks for general season but I think most were hoping for much better.

Here are my thoughts on chiwawa after being able to hunt it and Entiat at the same time.

Both have a general rifle season. Both have late permit rifle seasons. Chiwawa has more late rifle permits than Entiat.

Chiwawa then has a muzzy permit season when Entiat is having a late archery season.

Finally there is a late archery permit season in chiwawa when there is no more seasons in Entiat.

I feel like the chiwawa gets more pressure plus the chiwawa deer migrate into swakane where there is a late general archery season where the same deer from chiwawa get pounded again.

Just my thoughts with limited experience in either unit and lots of experience in swakane.
