Look at that old, white face. What a stud.
-
Really dig these pics and appreciate you sharing them Bone.
Is this the guy in your avatar, a few years older?
-
No, different buck. This buck had a twin brother. Not sure which one I just saw.
-
Thanks for sharing, great buck! Maybe a pic of him from last year to show his growth... ? I always like when I see a new boneaddict post!
-
He’s gets my blood pumping better than any miss November I ever saw.😉

This was him last year. I haven’t got this years yet. He is bigger this year. First impression was way bigger!!! But then again he is prone to causing buck fever
-
That's amazing to find him again. I wish you the best of luck and hope you can get a great series of pics of him!
-
🤞
-
I got on him at first light. Doe were nervous. The wind was howling which also screwed my photos. He disappeared. He showed again right at dark.
-
Oh man!!!! That’s awesome
-
Wow great Buck for sure!
-
Go get him, Bone!
-

Amazing work getting back on him
Any from the other side?
-
I’ve got him from every angle I could. 2days worth. I really didn’t have better light today, but had less wind. Just tired is all.
-
There's a lot going on there!
-
Oh my...he's Purdy. I think I now have new goals
-
There's a lot going on there!
That about sums it up! What a great and unique buck! I saw pics of 2 very fine local bucks that were harvested this weekend as well. Curious if either will show up on here.
-
As the famous Black Eyed Peas once said: "Whatcha gunna do with all that junk, all that junk inside your trun...Rack)
-
Dang. What a beauty of a brute! Is it just the photo, or does he have a cataract going in that left eye?
-
He is blind in that eye.
-
What a BEAST!! So cool you caught up with him again! Hope to see more pics as you sort through them!!
-
He is blind in that eye.
That bad eye makes him look like even more of s bad a**
-
Holy Santa claus sh**!!!
-
He is blind in that eye.
And STILL manages to evade all of us hunters every friggin' year!! :bash:
(except Doug :chuckle: )
-
How old do you figure he is @boneaddict?
I don't know why but he doesn't SEEM that old to me from the pics...5-1/2 or 6?

I think I got him again.
-
Can’t wait to see it!!!
-
This week is like a holiday for us WA mule deer enthusiasts waiting on your pictures
-
No kidding! Can’t wait to see!
-
Oh say it is so!
-
What a magnificent buck. Thank you!
-
Seems to have the same lazy eye
-
Damn nice buck. Very cool you have a history with him, almost makes him the Boards pet. I would be very disappointed if someone shot him. Do you know if he is blind from a prior fight?
-
I think I got him again.
Can't wait to see!!!
-
:yeah:
-
He is really being a poop.
-
Beautiful buck for sure. In your first post the left ear looks like it has been clipped off in a fight or something. The buck in post #35 looks like he has two complete ears. Are they the same buck, or is the ear in the first post folded over?
-
That’s a good question. As far as I know he has a full ear. I was working with twins though I thought he had a messed up eye, that or folded ear, which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before.
-
Just something I caught, Doug. Seems a lot of those big old bucks have trashed ears from fighting. Saw that first pic and thought, "Wow, his ear is clipped off, not notched or torn like normal". Wonderful photos.
-
So at some angles the ear looks short and some it looks norm. must have a uniqueness to it. This guy has the bad eye. I also saw his twin today. He has recessed a bit and didnt grow as well. I saw him early on and thought it was this buck. This guy surprised me that he looked so well. Then I saw them both.

bone, the buck I killed this year had about 2 inches missing from the tips of both ears, squared off. I killed another buck back in 1979 that had the same issue, only that buck was missing about 2 inches of one ear and about 3" off the other. I talked with my great grandpa about it back then and asked if he had ever seen that, he said yes, from time to time. He said he talked with one of the Little Bellingham guys back in the 40,s(his name was Gabe, I've told a few stories on here about him), he later went on to become a Warden up in Alaska. He said its frost bite usually, the tips of the ears are vulnerable and if they get frozen that area dies and falls off, could be whats going on with your guy there.:dunno:

Still alive, filmed him tonight!
-
No way! Can't wait!
-
This should be epic!
-
What a long life! He probably has sons that are reaching their prime now...
-
3 years (almost to the day) of growth on him... I bet that was a exciting time for you discovering him again! Can’t wait to see him!
-
There are some bucks that are just tough as nails.
-
Wow awesome! Do you have a place to check out all your work Bone? Like instagram or a website?

For the most part most of my work was always put on here for all to see. There is a link at the bottom of my post to a site but I haven’t updated it for some time. I’m not much of a salesman, it’s not why I photograph. You will see some images there.
-
Just asking because I’m not always active on this page, take long breaks

Thank you for asking. It’s one of my winter projects to get more current images on there.

Is that a hole in his atler on that right side ?? or just weird light ?

I also have a buck with about 4in of ear missing. Exactly what the Taxidermist told me. Some of these old bucks will stay up high too long a couple of years and there ears freeze off.

My best deer to date had a big split at least 1/3 of the way down through one years I assumed it was fighting. I loved the uniqueness of it, and then unfortunately the taxidermist “fixed” it. Now it looks like a normal ear in the mount and I was definitely disappointed in that.
Great pics Bone!
