How do I make this go away

Post by: salt n sage90 on November 23, 2020, 04:15:08 PM: I did tomato juice. 2 jugs worth and bathed the dog in the river. After that I shampooed him with "Natures Miracle" twice. It helped, but the smell lingers for a few months. His shock collar still stinks ha.

There’s a few different Dog shampoos that are designed just for that you can find on Amazon. The sooner you can get them bathed the better. If we notice it right when it happens it comes off pretty easily. If it has a chance to dry it’s a lot harder. Hardest spots are around their eyes and in their mouth. And yeah forget about the collars they are pretty much toast unless you plan on letting them hang out in the barn for 6 to 12 months

I haven't found ANYHING that'll get it all, like a magical elixir. The Baking soda/dawn dish soap / hydrogen peroxide mixture works, but you'll need to hit 'em hard, about three days in a row, warmer water the better, and it'll get about 80% of it. Only time will get the rest of it though.

Either way, we always do hydrogen peroxide and then blue dawn dish soap. Like others have said it ain’t gonna take the smell out all the way but with my dog and having both long hair and fur it works good enough.

It says on the label it works for dogs sprayed by skunks.

If you were closer I would give you some, I'm pretty sure I have some leftover.
