The Eastman boys did a nice job putting this together. Enjoyable to see this amazing herd doing their thing on the landscape.

Did you end up hunting G this year?
I got spanked in H

No. I hunted Montana this year. I’m sitting on 8 points though and will need to make a decision this winter.

Amazing video!

15 min in so far. Anybody with a passion for mule deer should watch this.

From over 1 million to apprx 400k, so herd @ 40%, sad.
Really brings out the question of whether or not Wa. is doing enough to slow the decline, maintain current levels, or see growth. Mule deer efforts are back burner in favor of wolves. :twocents:

:yeah: well said

Awesome video
I look at the Swakane area every year and see the development going up and screwing up the migration and winter range. Less deer. It is sad. I have been bow hunting up there for 20 years.

Lots of other factors different between Wyoming and Washington (political) that doesn’t help our state.

Good video with lots of interesting facts about an amazing deer herd in an amazing place. Biologist Gary Fralick in the video checked my deer at the Alpine check station this year. Did not know he was in charge of the herd at that time but he did say the 16-17 winter kill could turn out to be the worst since the famed 92-93 die off. Hope they bounce back quickly.

Watching right now.... so glad to see they are bringing this info out for the public to see.

Awesome content for sure. Wonder how many more hunters in G are gonna flock towards those crow lakes the next few years after seeing this documentary. :chuckle:

I was sitting next to my wife and told her the same thing.... can't believe they actually pin pointed that area!

I’m sure there will be crowds in there looking for offspring of a buck that’s been dead for over 20 years :chuckle:🤦♂️

I watched it.
Blown away Eastmans continues to advertise that country.
-
That was certainly enjoyable to watch

Good video and worth watching, but I'm blown away as to why they would pinpoint certain areas like that. I have a feeling that unit G will be harder to draw next year and the area around Crow Lakes will be a little busier than normal.

So are all these new people that didn’t know about Popeye just going to suddenly acquire the 7 points it takes to draw the tag, or are we talking a bunch of Wyo residents who didn’t know there were big bucks in there? 😂

I wonder how many out of state guys have been collecting points for years with no real plan other than they are going to hunt Wyoming someday.

I’m sure if there are big bucks in the Mt Fitzpatrick/Crow Creek Lakes areas there has been plenty of people hunting it for a long time. Secrets in G are few & far between these days. There were 25+ rigs at the Strawberry creek trailhead this past season. :o
