Got into an area in the Copalis unit today and it was torn to shreds. Really got the adrenaline flowing. Did some calling with no response. Saw a few deer. All and all a good day in the sticks. Marks

Good to hear. Keep us in the loop.

Their will propably be hound hunters in that area doing damage bear hunts, don't be discouraged ,they won't get them all.

Yep, you will probably run into some. They are not supposed to be running on Rayonier from what I was told. But they run on the other private timberlands and of course you can't stop a bear or a dog.
I ran into or heard them the last two years in the Copalis spring hunt.

That kinda takes the wind out of a guys sail. Markts :puke:Please dont get me wrong, I have nothing against hound hunting, I just thought the special permit would give the still hunter or caller an edge.

Nice work on the bear sign. I hunted all weekend and didnt find any fresh sign. Lots of stuff from last year but nothing from this year. I did see a bobcat that stood in the middle of the road looking at me for about 30 seconds at 50 yards, if season would have been open he would have been done!
