Really depends on your rig...but from what you are describing, check out the MinnKota Terrova. That should suit your needs just fine and comes in 24v and 36v and varying shaft lenghts.

My favorite feature. Forget about needing anchors when bobber fishing or plunking. Set, fish, move, repeat as needed.

I upgraded everything on my boat a few years ago and have often said if I could go back and could only do one thing it would be the minn Kota Terrova trolling motor with I-Pilot.
Actually I would do the Riptide Terrova for saltwater on a removable mount to swap between boats.

I have purchased several bow mounts here. I currently have a 112 Ulterra and like it alot. The Terrova is also a great bow mount.

rasbo I have a Stryker and I also use a bow mount. Anchor caddy slides in slides out.problem with mine,is it's a 98 stryker,which is considered a talon,very little room on bow plate and in the center is a welded rope slide and cleat behind that..once I get the ulltera I'll have to go from there...

The minnkota spotlock can work very well for sturgeon.

Remember if the remote ever starts acting up and not working right. Take the battery out flip it over, put it back in, take it out again and put it back in the correct way. This resets the circuit board or something like that. I find mine gets screwy every now and then.

Now you guys have me thinking about fishing. I was planning on upgrading to a more family-friendly boat, but that's not going to happen for a few years. So I'm looking for a trolling motor for a 16' sled that will mainly be used in Eastern WA lakes. Will a 12 volt 55 lbs be enough or am I going to wish I had more? Also what length of shaft should I be looking for. Here's the boat:55lbs. Is plenty.
