I’ve been thinking about investing (finally) in an auto trickler. Has anyone had any experience with this unit? Good/bad, tips or tricks??
Thanks

Love mine. No other way to do it in my opinion. Fast and accurate every time. Tip-after draining your powder to change to another, remember to close the little deal so that when u dump new powder in it doesn’t pour out all over your bench :bash:

I also really like mine. I also mirror Wolfdog's pro tip. Ugh, done it to many times.

I wasn’t getting a good accuracy check with my beam scale and turned out the rcbs was much more accurate than the beam scale. The auto dump works great just remember to put your empy pan back on the scale and look at the readout before u pull off. The last couple kernals can take awhile to drop. Use tweezers to pull out extra or drop short and add a couple kernals.
I switched to a Lab scale with .02 accuracy but still use the rcbs as an auto trickler

Ultra pro tip... do this!

100% agree on closed tip pointer!

i had to do the same thing on mine, after dumping a bunch of RL26 all over my bench :cryriver:
i have the standard chargemaster, not the lite.
-
Overall i have been happy with mine. Other thN losing quarter pound of powder before my sharpie fix!
I do find it very slow though. Some of the other models look to be faster.

And with RL26 nearly having the value of Plutonium I bet you were having an ohhh crap moment.
Opinions seem to differ on this but I've had a CM for quite a few years and learned early on some digital scales require a certain amount of time to warm up before they settle down so short of power outages mine RCBS CM hasn't been turned off in years. I have it plugged in to a surge protector but I never turn it off. My Dillon digital scale same thing, hasn't been turned off in years. Bought a new FX120 awhile back but haven't really had time to mess with it much so not sure what I'll do with that one.

I have a couple chargemasters. I programmed them to speed them up a bit and they work well. Definitely easier than manually measuring powders.
And yes. Always keep the drain deal shut. :chuckle:
Oops i missed the chargemaster lite part. I have no experience with lites.

Hard to beat the master. I inserted 1-1.5” straw piece in powder tube. Helps with constant measuring😉🥃🇺🇸

I have also dumped powder all over my bench after a clean out.
When changing charge weights remember to push cancel and not zero. I have zeroed it out and had it start dumping powder with no pan on it. Really sucks when you see h1000 spilling everywhere. MK machine makes powder tube reducers, they work really well and stop the over throws.

Do you have a photo of that? Sounds interesting

I heard McDonalds straw was perfect size but now I think they've gone to paper. Smaller tube allows just one kernel to drop at a time

I let mine warm up for a bit prior to using, and also throw 2 charges with it before loading. I have had the first charge be weird with cold scale, but since warming, and throwing a charge or 2, mine is more accurate than my beam scale. Also i may be a bit weird but i also calibrate mine before each use.
-
The only problem I've had with mine is that occasionally it stops short of the set weight and I have to trickle the rest.
-
Love mine, always spot on!

So long ago but McDonald’s sounds about right. Here’s a picture It’s not very good but the best I can come up with.

Interesting. So the straw is inside the trickler tube? It just allows a more frictionless flow of powder?
-
Yes it’s more of a constant. You have a couple over but not as many as you did before the straw
-
Will be trying this out

Chicken soup, couldn’t hurt. 😉🥃🇺🇸

Interesting, mines been flawless and spot on stock, but Ill keep this in mind if I ever have an issue

I use the straw on mine as well. It does make a difference.
