Called my 71 year young cousin up and asked he was up to going out and tipping over a turkie. We went out Saturday afternoon and eased our way up the hill and after we got set up . I got on the calls and had an answer. Had to birds came right in and walk towards me. They passed close enough I could have petted them and when they got to the other side of the tree he saw them and his season is filled. He asked me why I didn't shoot "told" him I never saw them! LOL On our way out I found this in the grass while I was looking for fresh asparagus. Looks like that's a week or 2 off as well.

This is the 6 Th bird I have called for him in as many years. It's the first bird of the year I call for. Or I try to make it the first. I get more enjoyment out of calling for old guys to get there first or a kid. Last year he had a friend come over from the west side and his Grandson came down from Alaska. Cousin called and asked if I would call a bird for the young man. You bet! We went out the weekend of the kiddie hunt and he shot a nice bird. His Grandpa was walking on air they sat across the ridge and watched the bird make a mistake. When we went to get it Grandpa met us almost at the bird before we got to it. Not sure who was happier.
