Title: Savage 110 ultralite caliber advise
Post by: BigVinn on January 07, 2021, 01:09:12 PM
I have a ultralite in 6.5 creed and really like it.  I am thinking of getting another for elk and bear.  Looking at the 6.5 prc or the 300wsm.  Anybody have these calibers in this gun?  How is the recoil in either since it is a light weight rifle?  Thanks

I have one in 300 wsm and put a brake on it.  My 11 y.o. son loves shooting it and took two deer with it this year.....170 and 308 yards.  Great rifle that absolutely loves Nosler accubond factory 180 grain ammo.  I will be working a custom load for it this year but was super impressed with how well it shot factory ammo.

I was looking at getting one and was going to go 6.5 prc but I just can’t get over that ugly stock :chuckle:

I’m not a fan of the stock but it shoots so well I don’t care. Lol. The new camo looks great but can’t find one in either caliber I want.

I have a 6.5 PRC with a Pepper pot muzzle brake. It is the exact barrel diameter which is .750 at the muzzle. I just ordered a manners stock. Same weight as the plastic factory stock but Carbon fiber. This gun is going to be awesome

What manners stock fits the savage?

MCS-T or EH1 but you also have to get their mini chassis because of the lack of material left for the Savage action. They also said the bedding doesn't hold up with the savage action so the mini chassis is the best and strongest option with no bedding necessary after. Its only $159 extra so not that big of cost difference. I'm getting the MCS-T Elite Hunter Series. Cost is $855 after options and shipping
