Hey guys, heading to Potholes this weekend and was just curious how much was froze. I hunted over there the start of January and some of it was starting to freeze so I imagine with the colder weather more and more is closing up.
-
And cold weather is on its way
-
I saw that, hopefully it isn’t all froze by the time I even get over there.
-
everything is pretty much open in the basin right now. Been warm
-
Aerial photo looks like it's open! :chuckle:
-
Clever. :chuckle:
-
That looks like a killer spot to setup
-
How’d you potholes boys do today?

Dang it, Dennis!!!
You know what happens when you reveal to everyone what your favorite fishing hole is!
I can't believe you just gone and did that! :bash: :bash: :bash:

Tell us how it went Hoss.
Last weekend it was totally open. Nothing frozen.
Fishing was slow and hands were cold.
-
Saw a guy pull a carp out the other day surprisingly! Ok size...
-
Seriously though, have any of you guys been there lately? Any luck?
-
I was there over the weekend and Monday. Hardly any birds it was crazy. The goose spots I was hitting were empty too. It was weird. Same with the weekend before
-
I was there over the weekend too, it was starting to ice up in the dunes. Lots of bluebills and other divers around on Saturday, much slower on Sunday. Did not see a single mallard. Always have a good time over there even when the birds and weather don't cooperate.
-
Yeah it was very slow. Only killed one greenhead and on Saturday where I was at was all iced up. A lot different than it was at the start of January. Talked to an old timer over there and he said it was the worst he has ever seen it over there and the birds left 3 weeks ago.

They are all held up in the flooded corn :twocents:

Still a few birds in the moses area last saturday, not great numbers. Two man limit, birds were feeding until about 3pm ahead of the front coming in. Was slow early but got with it real quick.

Possibly, little piece of private north of town.

The brush made me think of that spot.
