Title: Shrimp opener guesses
Post by: Stein on January 25, 2021, 07:19:05 PM: Anyone have guesses when shrimp will open in 8-2/9? Looks like the best May tide is May 22, but May 1 isn't horrible and they have set the opener on some pretty gnarly tides in the past.

The minus on May 1 has me thinking they may delay later in the month.

Post by: Stein on January 27, 2021, 07:53:15 PM: Yeah, I probably said it last year, but we know what the tides will be for the next 1,000 years so how about just telling us a year or two in advance? At some point, it appears they may delay just in hopes a few people can't go. I guess if that keeps them from trimming the season to 14 minutes it might be a good thing?

Post by: huntnphool on January 27, 2021, 08:40:11 PM: With the Covid numbers as high as they are, I’d imagine they cancel it due to closed boat ramps to avoid hospitals from getting overwhelmed.

They won't announce seasons till they test fish and work with the co- manager's on when they plan on having seasons.
