Title: Air Bow question
Post by: gramps on January 28, 2021, 08:21:59 AM
I have read the archery rules and regulations and see no mention of "Air Bows".

Are they legal to use during archery season??

thanks

I don't think you can use anything that holds itself at the ready to fire position. So I'm gonna say definitely not.

Thanks

The regs say one can not use anything to hold the 'bow' at full draw.    This might apply.

You pretty much have to be a diabled hunter to use it during archery season. I bet you can use it during mod fire in a firearm restricted area tho....

I don't believe it meets the basic definition of a bow even with that word thrown in the name.  Would like to hear a reasonable argument/explanation that might change my mind.

Just because something flings an arrow doesn't make it a bow.

My friend is disabled and has a crossbow permit, he called the dept and they told him NO. Not legal for him to hunt with during archery season
