Has anyone ever fashioned a homemade bow cradle like an October Mountain? The price tag is a bit steep so I was wondering if anyone has attempted it. I have a Manfrotto ball head (I think it's rated to 15lbs). what would you engineer to clamp the limbs to the head?

I stole the idea from archery talk but I just ordered a bench mounted bicycle repair stand. They can be found for under $40. Does everything I think I’ll need it to do. It clamps to the grip instead of the limbs.

Do you just want a bow vice like the OMP?
