CO is a tough call this year. Lots of big deer could die on 2nd season this year if the weather hits. Especially with the later muzz dates some deer might slip through the cracks in the early season. Of course this is all speculation :chuckle: how many points are you sitting on? I'm not sure points even equate to better quality these days, if you have a line on a buck with that potential it'd be hard not to go look for him! I say flip a coin :chuckle: I had every intention of doing a 2nd season this year but that went down the drain with the whole preggo wife thing
You are spot on regarding 2nd season this year in some of the superior genetic areas! Could be one for the ages!

You have a ton of great options, IMO points don't correlate that directly to quality. A 15 point hunt isn't automatically better than a 10 point hunt. Don't think of it as wasting points, or feel like you have to spend exactly 14 to get your money's worth. That's an easy trap to fall into. I look back now at how much I stressed about spending 10 and realize it was silly. FYI I spent them on a 6 point unit and killed a great buck. :twocents:

Can you just buy points or do you have to buy a license ?You have to buy atleast a small game licsence and habitat stamp to apply for a point if remember right. I think its around $100 for a point.

Unit 28, I actually drew the tag last year but was able to hold it over due to the fires. Now I'll have a deer tag in my pocket while I hunt the muzzleloader season and if I don't score with the muzzleloader then I'm hunting moose with the rifle.Just got hit for my moose tag.:yike: congrats! I didn't think we'd draw on 0 but we did, last year was 70% chance on 0 so I figured this year would be 1 or 2 points. Really interested to see how some of the mid tier 6-12 point stuff did though
