Location isn't everything , call R.J. at Quicksilver, you'll be over the moon glad you did. Many trainers specialize in a breed or subspecies ( german dogs) setters etc., he doesnt, he trains them all and does it well, the proof is his Field champions trained from I believe 8 different breeds. He doesn't trial anymore but it was over 75 champions. I owned 2 of them. He's fixed alot of dogs that others said couldn't be trained and won with those too.

Just picked up my Vizsla from Quicksilver yesterday, RJ’s awesome and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Honestly, if you have a little bit of free time most days, that dog is very easy to train. Good lines, and you will feel the dog already knows. It will also bond that dog to you so much more.

I would train the dog myself but I just can't invest the consistent time and patience for force fetch etc. This dog is super sensitive to pressure but has a ton of prey drive. I don't want to screw him up. Lol

Hey 3D, I'm curious who you ended up going with and what the results were. Will send you a PM for details.
Also, Colin if you see this do you have any recommendations for this bread/upland training in the NW? I'm in Skagit County.
Thanks,
HH

Honestly if I had upland questions I'd ask Daryl or Brandon that I posted about above. As a retriever/waterfowl guy I'm not an expert in upland training or dogs. I do the occasional pointing/versital breed but only the retrieving part.
The training for an upland dog and a retriever are totally different so any one pedaling both is doing one as a focus and the other to fill kennels. Be sure to meet exactly who's going to be putting hands on your dog everyday. Know and see where they will be kenneled. Make sure you have clear expectations on what your paying for and get regular updates on progress.

Thanks Colin, I'll reach out to those folks you suggest.

Who did you get your dog from?, the breeder should be able to help with this question.
Do you not plan to test this dig within the VDD-GNA tests?

RJ in Moses Lake hunts his dogs in training a lot. And shoots a lot of live birds over his dogs. Nobody has his record of success.
