That’s a great buck!
Pretty much ruined my whole deer season :chuckle: I spent from early May to Dec 15 scouting and hunting that buck. Somewhere around 500 miles hiked. Buck was nowhere to be found after mid Sept. I found every single buck I had on camera in the summer in Nov and Dec. Highly unlikely a hunter took him. I think a cat got him
-
Only got this portly fellow on camera one time.
-
That's awesome ! Hard I'm sure to find a den lol.
-
Fattest bear I've ever seen!! And Josh, I was waiting for your pic's, those elk pics are epic. Do you still have a camera in that location? I know those were from a few years ago, curious to see how many bulls are still there.

No more cameras there. Seems as though maybe the locals didn't like them there. We don't hunt there anymore either.
I'd like to get back in the game somewhere though. I've got some cameras collecting dust. I think this might be the year.
:chuckle:
I need some fresh material.

My Buddie might have pics of this bear, couldnt believe how fat it is... it was this last summer, north of you. Guess it could be different bears but looks roundly the same.

Couple WA bucks..
-
Those bulls are studs
Is that corn the bears are eating?
-
What kind of snacks do you put in front of your camera in the spring for mule deer?
-
I had good luck with:
Wet cob with molasses and loose salt for mule deer or whitetail
Elk loose a salt
-
Loose salt seems to work the best that I've used, doesnt keep them super regular like whitetail. About mid august, once antlers are about done they really seem to change patterns away from it.
-
I like this one from last muzzy season. You can see my headlights in the background heading out after shooting light. Buck watching from the timber edge.

I agree. Once they’re hard horned they lose interest in the salt.

I dont think they loose complete interest in salt. I have cameras that I only run salt year round and the elk hit it year round. They slow down a little during the rut but mid October they are right back

I have deleted Alot of good photos over the years.

Great photos, keep them coming. There are some crazy fat bears on here. Way too many predators but those are also the unique ones on my cameras. I get 1000's of photos of deer and elk, the predator photos are the ones that always catch my eye.
-
I've got a good one.... I'll try and dig it up tonight haha! :chuckle:

I liked this one also.

My two headed bull.

Letting me know I wouldn't see him come season.

Trying to post a picture of a Bobcat, but it isn't working....
-
Here we go... This is the first Bobcat I've positively Id'd on the trail camera. It was going after an Eastern Grey Squirrel that was caught in the box trap about an hour before the Bobcat arrived. The Bobcat tried to get at the squirrel all night! From about 8PM to 10AM with a few breaks.

I've never seen a bobcat or cougar in person at home, but in the last couple months I've gotten both on the trail camera. First Cougar on trail camera, only 100yds or so from the house.

It’s really interesting that the whitetail fawns do hange around the big bucks. We see it in Washington as well. Super cool picture.

Not sure what to think......
Law is the law....
Perfectly legal to bait deer and elk.
I CE it is L-E-G-A-L

Why do you continue to come on here and spill this nonsense? You have no idea what you’re saying, have been corrected numerous times, and yet here we are again with another post saying baiting is illegal.

:o
NW,
Is this bull still alive? ...Looks like one I saw harvested the other day from Stevens County... :dunno:
-
Pathfinder, he could be but I don’t think so. That pic was taken in 2015. Anything is possible though. Sadly I was not able to put a tag on him…but I tried.

they sure look really similar. 6 years ago he very well could be the same bull. :twocents:
-
I’m guessing so... NW did you see the pic of the similar bull in the “Idaho” thread?
https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,264621.0.html
-
:yeah:
These were my exact thoughts!
-
If you look closely you’ll see where my camera was rubbed off the tree it was hung on. That bull was the last clear pic it took
-

Yup. That's him.
I was thinking they looked similar, but if that trail cam pic is 6 years old, then probably not. :dunno: That 8th point is a pretty common genetic trait in Eastern WA. We see a lot of them in the Blues.
-
That is awsome! Nice bull! Does the cam still take photos!?!? :chuckle:

Oh yeah! Picked all the bark and dirt out of it and good as new.

Low quality image, but got this guy a few weeks ago

The camera was on straight, a moose "adjusted" it. The date is wrong, these are in May. These photos are 1 minute apart. Season of love I guess.

Weird bull, Roosevelt?

Weird bull, Roosevelt?
pretty close to the Cascade Crest, so either a Rocky Mountain or a hybrid

I like this one I got of three blacktail bucks.

that is a lot of bucks in one photo!
