Title: hunter orange while turkey hunting?
Post by: Oh Mah on March 26, 2021, 09:13:56 PM: I am a little confused,Some are telling me the regs have been changed so you have to wear hunter orange while spring turkey hunting............Is this true?

For anyone hunting bear, bobcat, cougar, coyote, deer, elk, fox, grouse, hare, rabbit, raccoon, or turkey in an area that is open to hunting for deer or elk during a modern firearms season. This includes archers and muzzleloaders when they hunt in areas (e.g. game management units, deer areas, elk areas, wilderness areas) that overlap modern firearm seasons.

Post by: Oh Mah on March 26, 2021, 09:46:20 PM: ok,good.i just went over the rule meeting and it said they got 15 peoples comments 8 were for it 5 against it and 2 were not sure.(as if only 15 commented) but it went on to say they voted it in knowing that turkey can see the orange and pink but they were voting for safety over harvest numbers.

What is this all about?

WAC 220-414-080 was changed in October 2019.

Not during special hunts that fall outside of the general moxern firearm seasons ir during masthunter seasons outside of general modern firearm season. Bob is right this was done in 2019.
