Post by: Russ McDonald on April 06, 2021, 03:42:49 AM: Awesome job. Private or public land? Yup that is the hardest for the WA slam. A US Grand Slam would be all 4 subspecies. Rio, Merriam, Eastern and Osceola.

After more than 20 years trying, if I finally do shoot an Eastern bird, I would no longer hunt them for myself. I would only take other people hunting to get their one Eastern bird. Also, I think if a hunter takes someone else out who gets an Eastern, both hunters should get credit for the WA Slam when they each get a Rio and a Merriam's., too.
Maybe that would take some pressure off the birds on the West side. :twocents:
