Hopefully today is the day. Not that it matters since I drew Multi season elk last year and it took me 10 points to get it. But hey I don’t think drawing with one point would be any more far fetched than taking 10 years to draw it. Just about Everyone I know drew it two or three times in the ten-year span it took me. Good luck everyone!
My wife and I each have 4 points. Hoping one of us gets one. That would be fun, some extra time chasing bulls and cows with our bows.

Last year, during the height of Covid it came out April 8th. I just called WDFW in Olympia and the lady told me “It will for sure be out before April 26th.” She was very nice but this state is frustrating. Once you get stuck in the point application loop you are stuck. I can’t stop putting in now with 9 elk points even though I want to just give up and hunt out of state.You can stop any time you want. Nobody forcing you to apply....
Of course you can always apply in WA and other states also.
Besides that what difference would it make if they did take until the 26th?

I feel your pain. I have been putting in every year since it started and have never drawn a MS elk tag. I think I have 12 points, but I have never drawn a quality or OIL tag either and I'm in the mid 20 points on those. I'm glad I started the points game about 10 years ago in the other western states as I have/can draw better opportunity hunts than most of our quality hunts here. If I ever do draw in WA, I'll be done with chasing points here.

They pulled the special hunts tab that you would check under. They do this when they are about to draw and then it shows back up once they have completed and posted results. I was sure it was going to be yesterday, so hopefully Monday :dunno: :dunno:

Just based on how many calls and emails they get on the final day/night of the regular draws I would imagine there are way more last minute emails and phone calls with the multiseason draw just because it always seems to sneak up on people with it being so much earlier than anything else. Plus it is a super busy time for WDFW as they are finalizing hunting regs for the upcoming season.I wish they would just have set dates. Take the guessing out of it. I will fall back to my original reply, the reason I think it takes time is because they are answering questions and dealing with people that had issues at the last minute for the people that you "don't have a lot of sympathy for".
I am not saying I don't agree with you on the sympathy thing but I am saying I think that they are trying to handle application issues, hunting regulations approval, youth turkey season opener, turkey opener, fishing opener and probably a bunch of the other stuff this month is the reason results aren't posted 2 days after the deadline.
I do believe like always they will be posted in the first half of the month.

So if you drew and then choose not to purchase it and technically it is your permit. Shouldn't you be able to sell it.

I had 10 points going in. It when to 11 points and now says zero. Before that I got this though.They add this years point before the draw. That's why it went from 10 to 11 then to 0.

21 thousand multi elk applicants this year, no wonder us with lots of points didn't draw. I wonder what you guys think about more multi tags? Do most apply just so they can have more options in the draw? Or do most usually take advantage of the three weapons seasons? I wonder how many people actually can take that much time off for all three, I personally end up being a weekend warrior on a couple weapons if I manage to pick up an elk multi tag. I also wonder if the herds would even have more pressure by adding 1 or 2 thousand more multi tags? But with 21 thousand applicants and climbing, odds at 1,ooo permits won't get any better.
I would venture to bet most east side hunters do it more for the 3 seasons and west side hunters do it more for the ability to put in for east side bull tags while hunting bulls no matter what. That’s how I always looked at it anyway. Multi season elk is a lot more valuable then deer.

Neither one are that big of a deal. The only useful things about either one is being able to apply for permits. Other than that, I’m with you, more than likely a lot of money and still tag soup. Good luck to all that bought, I would too if I’d have drawn, but it’s not the lottery. Proceed accordingly and expect to kill spikes. Good luck!

I agree with having to buy license and tag first. How many don't buy license if they don't draw MS? Same with OIL's. Pay up front.

Anyways, I’m a west side hunter as well, and I try for multi season elk mainly for the chance to apply for some east side tags, I put in for deer to have the extra time and seasons for deer hunting, I primarily hunt archery and usually don’t hunt modern or muzzleloader seasons unless I draw multi season deer. If I don’t draw multi season elk, for me at least I can hunt branch antlered bulls on the west side. Terrain and vegetation may be thicker, but there’s bulls I can hunt without having to apply for permits, even though I still apply for archery hunts I can hunt bulls over here.

Im with Jerry, there is one permit in this state that i really want and ill get that tag and once i dont draw that permit ill buy the multiseason to hunt otc seasons. So you just apply for the choices on the original weapon choice you selected? You don't purchase it first so you can try for all 3 different weapon choices?

Im with Jerry, there is one permit in this state that i really want and ill get that tag and once i dont draw that permit ill buy the multiseason to hunt otc seasons. Yes, my quality deer hunt will be with a rifle. When I have less points, I might try the quality with other weapons, or buck permit.I wait to buy the deer till after the quality draws, no sense to give them more money if a draw a tag.

140 bucks for a chance to hunt for 2 months, cheap entertainment. id bet most guys here spend that in a weekend on booze and going out to dinner once. plus allows me to apply for rifle permits and then hunt late season archery if not drawn, cant beat that...(carry on, i will now be applying for the bethel tag as well due to this information posted)

Hi.Be careful, there is a bunch of privet ground in that area. More Elk than Deer also.
I was lucky to draw a multi season deer tag.

If I purchase the Combo big game package for $93.50 and then the multi-season tag for $ 138.60 do i get refunded on the deer portion of the combo tag or it is an additional fee?
If its added on then $170+ for a blacktail isn't worth it to me. Especially with the limited late season availability on the west side. None of the areas I hunt are open for anything but modern late season.

I enjoy the "hunt" and with the multi season pass My hunt just got so much more flexible and long.
Bonus I love hunting with all three weapons, It makes me sad each year when I have to choose only one.
Believe it or not I often choose the smoke pole during modern season.
Thank You WDFW for the lessor weapon flexability rule. :IBCOOL:
