Here’s a question
In all previous years state reports show zero marten trapped and I myself catch marten every year and put them on my report . Since we trap bobcats and get them cited shouldn’t there be bobcats on the list ? They don’t even have them on there .... especially since there’s been talk of bag limits on Marten and bobcats
Any thoughts ?

Cats are on the cities list. Where they are tallied by hunt and trap.
Ive mentioned the Marten deal before. When WDFW listed the species on their old form Marten were never listed. A trapper had to enter them as "other". But yet WDFW had columns for Nutria, Skunk, etc.
Marten have been omitted for as long as I can remember.
The way the new form is, the trapper enters all species on their list.
I have not looked at the state harvest reports in a while, but, in the past have seen where counties show zero harvest of different species when I had reported taking that specie in that county. Also the state used to stay 6-8 years behind on entering the trapping harvest reports. I think they are within a year or two last I looked.
So, in the recent past anyway, the numbers entered by the state on some years reports are lacking my data.
Ive never heard of limits on cats or Marten. If true would like to see WDFWs "science" to support that.

Neglected to mention:
On the old form there was columns for skunk and nutria. Which are not even classified as Furbearers, they are classified as Unprotected. But yet Marten, a Furbearer, was never listed at all. Again, that is the way it always was as long as I can remember.

Ya it doesn’t make sense as why marten aren’t on there but nutria are :dunno:
Just curious how many are caught a year
There’s was talk of the marten and bobcat at the last meeting they had along with scopes on muzzleloaders and etc...
