Blew my chance on sn Eastern... I had to pee, and the Robin I was watching behind my decoy was a turkey head, once I stood up to take care of business. I will get one, hopefully in the next week or it'll have to be next year. Trying to juggle spring bear and getting the grand slam.

Good luck Carl!
Did you punch your East side tags, or are you just that adventurous?

I didn’t get my Merriam yet. But was close on the last trip. We went 2 for 4. I don’t know if I would say I’m being adventurous but being retired I plan to hunt all 3 species this year.

My Daughter wanted to go for a hike. I convinced her that we should walk some gated roads on the west side and look for Turkeys :). We hiked/walked just under 7 miles. Never saw a bird, or got one to respond to calls or even shock gobble. But we did find a little sign, so I'm calling it a success!

CJ you tell me where you see them and I'll double check the area for you
:P

I saw an eastern this past weekend. But I wasn't hunting at the time and didn't have my shotgun. 🤬

Put this one down second day. Buddy had a chance a few days later but a hen got way out in front of the gobbler while he was still 60 yards out, walked by us at 5 yards and saw something she didn't like and blew the whole flock out. I know of several others that were harvested the first week or so.

That's awesome. Always wanted to get one with my muzzleloader!

Congrats! Did you just use a rifled barreled muzzy with shot? How does it pattern?

Got my eastern on the 22. Called in two that came in side by side strutting and gobbling. Then both trying to mount my decoy before I took one with my bow. Then took my brother-in-law today. He had never hunted turkeys before. I had 9 different toms calling, then called one into him at 8 feet, not yards. His heart was pounding out of his chest. And he couldnt hold the gun still when the tom stuck his head up in front of him. And the tom took flight. I made a move on another bird and got to about 250 yards. Set my bro in front of a tree. Then decided to back call ( call while backing away.) So the tom would come after me. Within 10 minutes the tom came gobbling and strutting For 200 yards full sight of my bro in law. When he finally couldnt stand the excitement and shot it at 32 yards. Fun day, and hes hooked!
