Running low on 4350, so I have to figure out something with RL22 or H4381.
Anyone have luck with 30-06 in 180g with RL 22? Specifically I'm wondering if the need the pack the case or get to a compressed load.
I'm getting the velocity I want at a relative low charge (compared to the books), but still circling the drain as far as identifying something that groups. Seating depth changes don't seem to tighten up things. Ladder tests with the chrono are as expected, so nothing unusual there.
Nosler has 58.0 as the starting weight, going up to 62.0 I'm seeing 2750 fps at 58.0 grains for 180g bullet. Not a lot of room left in that case. I've always achieved decent velocity with this gun, and other powders and bullets without having to go beyond max book, or even approach max book.
I supposed I could increase the charge because I'm not seeing any pressure signs, and see what happens.
I'm shooting 178 ELDX or 180g interlock.

I'm running 62gr reloder 22 but with 168gr. It's compressed and is a tack driver just over 2900fps. I havent tried 180s with the 168s performing so well. What kind of grouping are you getting now?

Same here- compressed RL22 (cant remember exact grain amount at the moment) with the 168 Nosler Ballistic Tip - shoots good out of my old Ruger.

I use 59.0 grains of RL22 behind a 180gr Speer Hot Cor in my 30-06 and it’s extremely accurate.

180 and 200gr bullets, a 24-26 inch barrel, and H4831 has worked well for me in the 30-06.

62 of R22 behind a 165 accubond. Accurate and Fast! Been wanting to try 178 ELDX but supply is low.

Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll increase the load and see what that does, although I'm getting good velocity at lower weights.
Could always try some 165s too. Getting 2750 fps on 180g at 58.0g RL22...
