A couple guys hunting coyotes in Big Hole river country were cited for shooting wolves from a helicopter, which is illegal currently here in Montana.

I wonder how much they got from FAA too?

Couldn't read the article. Can you hunt coyotes in MT from a helicopter?

Let's start a 'GO FUND ME' account fund for these great guys.
It dhould happrn multipule times a day.
-
Who ratted them out? Likely some granola eaters.
Aircraft are a great idea as they don't leave tire tracks, nor do they trigger survelliance cameras positioned over gates or junctions. But they do have tail numbers, the exception being ultralights.

I like the go fund me idea!

Me too, I would definitely pitch in to help pay their fine.

Looks like they both paid already, less than $500 each and no forfeiture of hunting priviledges. Overall a pretty easy let off considering the circumstances. No landowner permission and with the helicopter involved.

I love happy endings.

Two down and SO MANY more to go!!

A Montana game warden told me it was cheaper to get a ticket in Montana than hunt legal in Washington. :chuckle:

They definitely got off easy! I’m surprised.
